Why we created a candle that disappears

We live in a world full of choice — yet so much of what’s offered feels the same.

When we created Casa di Ovia, we didn’t just want to add another candle to the shelf. We wanted something with the sculptural presence of Diptyque, the thoughtful detail of Aesop, and the sustainability promise of Pott — but without the mess or the price tag.

We first fell in love with the idea of refillable candles when we discovered brands like Pott and The Refillable Candle Company. Their mission spoke to us — a better way to burn, without wasting vessels.

But if we’re honest? We didn’t love the cleaning.

Scraping wax. Replacing wicks. Hoping the refill would sit straight and burn evenly.

It felt more like a chore than a ritual.

So We Reimagined It.

And it all started with a question:
